Yah ini pengalaman lagi...sebenarnya udah lama pc client bermasalah karena gak bisa instal atupun uninstal program di windows xp, maslahnya udah lama juga. rencananya mo di instal ulang karena di kira udah gak ada jalan lain abiz kasian setipa kali mo running excel 2007 selalu loading intstaler trs yah makan waktu juga sekitar 5 menitan setipa kali buka file excel selain itu mo buka AS400 juga kadang harus manual
tidak bisa automatic dan akhirnya semalam tanpa sengaja saya print screen aja tuh error messagenya"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. dan saya melirik uncle google sembari mengcopy paste message diatas dan trink...google search menunjuk link ke microsft dan akhirnya ...



tak peraktekan apa yang di perintak sama microsot walhasil berhasil juga dan pc client pun tidak di jadi di instal ulang...berikut cara2nya saya langsung copy paste aja ke blog ini abis biar gak lupa klo ada maslah kaya beginian...

Resolution
1: Reregister the Windows Installer
To reregister the Windows Installer, verify the location of the Msiexec.exe file on your hard disk and in the Windows Registry, and then register the Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

1. Determine the location of the Msiexec.exe file on your hard disk. To do this,
follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click Run, type %windir%\system32, and then click OK.
Note This step will open the folder where the Msiexec.exe file is
located.
b. Make a note of the location of the Msiexec.exe file. The location of the
Msiexec.exe file will be a combination of the value in the Address text
box and the Msiexec.exe file name itself.

For example if the Address text box contains a value of C:\Windows\system32, the location of the Msiexec.exe file will be C:\Windows\system32\Msiexec.exe.

2. Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Make sure that the location of the Msiexec.exe file in Registry Editor is correct. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open text box, and then click
OK.
2. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, expand SYSTEM, expand CurrentControlSet,
expand Services, and then click MSIServer.
3. In the right pane, right-click ImagePath, and then click Modify.
4. In the Value data text box, type the location of the Msiexec.exe file
that you determined in step 1, followed by the value of /V, and then
click OK.

For example, if the location of the Msiexec.exe file is
C:\Windows\system32\Msiexec.exe, type the following text in the Value
data text box:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msiexec.exe /V
5. Click OK to close the Edit String dialog box.
6. Click the File menu, and then click Exit to close Registry Editor.
3. Start your computer in safe mode, and then register the Msiexec.exe file. To do
this, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Turn off computer or Shut Down.
2. Select the Restart option, and then click OK, or click Restart.
3. Press F8 before the Windows splash screen appears.
4. On the Windows Advanced Option menu, use the arrow keys to select the
Safe Mode option, and then press ENTER.
5. If you use a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the appropriate
operating system from the list that is displayed, and then press ENTER.
6. Log on to the computer.
7. Click Start, click Run, type msiexec /regserver in the Open text box, and
then click OK.

Note For 64-bit operating systems, you also have to reregister the 64-bit MSI installer. To do this, click Start, click Run, type %windir%\Syswow64\Msiexec /regserver in the Open text box, and then click OK.

On 64-bit editions of the Windows operating system, 32-bit binaries are located in %systemroot%\SysWow64 folder. The 64-bit binaries are located in the %systemroot%\System32 folder.
8. Click Start, and then click Turn off computer or Shut Down.
9. Select the Restart option, and then click OK, or click Restart.

If the issue persists, and you still receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section, follow the steps in Method 2.

Method 2: Reinstall the Windows Installer
To reinstall the Windows Installer, rename the damaged Windows Installer files, and then reinstall the Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open text box, and then click OK.
2. Type cd %windir%\system32, and then press ENTER.
3. Type attrib -r -s -h dllcache, and then press ENTER.
4. Type ren msi.dll msi.old, and then press ENTER.
5. Type ren msiexec.exe msiexec.old, and then press ENTER.
6. Type ren msihnd.dll msihnd.old, and then press ENTER.
7. Type exit, and then press ENTER.
8. At the command prompt, type exit, and then press ENTER.
9. Click Start, and then click Turn off computer or Shut Down.
10. Select the Restart option, and then click OK, or click Restart.
11. Log on to the computer.
12. Download and install the latest version of the Windows Installer. For more information about how to obtain the Windows Installer, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

OPEN VPN at XP OS (Acces Kerjaan dirumah serasa di kantor)

Wuih Ada lg tuh software Open source untuk open VPN (Virtual Private Network) yang jelas free alias gratisan sehingga seolah-olah kita serasa di lingkungan kantor, kita bisa acces printer sharing, email kantor, file sharing pokoknya aktivitas kita yang biasa di lakukan di kantor bisa di lakukan di rumah, mungkin banyak rekan semua yang sudah mngenalnya bahkan mencobanya tapi bagi saya ini merupakan pengalaman atau ilmu tambahan dan mungkin ilmu baru yang bisa saya implementasikan nantinya.
Kebetulan di kantor menggunakan SME Server untuk file sharing, Print to Fax dan login ke masing2 usernya jadi setelah di tambah add ons open VPN Bridge di SME servernya kita tinggal create new user di SME servernya setelah selesai kita download file id nya dari SME server dan semua ini harus user administrator yang melakukannya lalu kita masukan file id tersebut ke c:/program file/open vpn/config dan jalankan open VPN nya yang telah kita instal di pc user atau client maka automatic ip adress yang sebelumnya berubah menjadi ip adress di kantor tempat kita kerja dan otomatis kita semua bisa acces semua fasilitas yang berada di kantor dalam seperti print sharing, email kantor, file sharing, fax sahring dan aplikasi lainnya.

Printer HP 1020 Error "You cannot add a printer and you receive printer spooler error messages in Windows XP"

Beberapa hari yang lalu ada panggilan via email dan telephone dari kantor cabang atau kantor kedua tempat saya bekerja mereka memberitahukan kalau printer sharing merek HP 1020 tidak bisa ngeprint dengan mesage printer spooler, setelah beberapa kali saya reinstal dan konfigure ulang tetap saja masih juga tidak bisa di gunakan dan masih menampilkan mesage yang sama akhirnya saya gunakan ilmu pamungkas saya sembari berbisik ke paman saya yaitu Uncle Google dan walhasil saya masuk ke forumnya microsft dan disana membeberkan kenapa print bisa spooler dan samapai pada penghujung wacana, om microsoft memberikan suatu solusi dengan menyuruh kita untk menginstal suatu software yang di berinama FIXPRINTSPOOLER dan walhasil dengan sedaya upaya dimana bandwith yang sangat lemot akhirnya tuh software siap di download langsung dah di instal, setelah selesai setingan spooler dikembalikan ke default dan printer kita jadi hilang abiz itu instal lagi tuh printer dan ternyata setelah di instal printer kembali normal dan bisa diajak sharing lagi...

Instalasi ubuntu 8.04

Akhirnya bisa juga ntuh insatalasi ubuntu 8.04 walaupun sudah keluar varian barunya, tp baru sempat beberapa hari yang lalu abiz br ada kesempatan dan prasarana (lg banyak kompi user yang nganggur...pada biz contrack and resign)jadi yah bisa di manfaatkan, sebelumnya sih dah sukses juga pake yang ubuntu versi 7.04 and 7.10 karena request trs ama yang punya akhirnya dapat kiriman trs sampai versi 8.04 nah varian yang terbaru belum sempat lg request...jd karena lg ngoprek yang versi 8.04 yah tak jajal trs aja...sekarang lg nyoba instal virtual box...sebelumnya instal aplikasi wine berhasil biar aplikasi yang running di os xp bisa runing juga di ubuntu trs instal samba dengan maksud biar bisa join ke server tp sampai detik ini belum bisa juga ...yang penting trs berusaha..padahal sebelumnya dah bisa waktu masih pake ubuntu versi 7.10 berhubung sudah lama yah jadi lupa lg...sepertinya semuanya hrs selalu di tulis dalam harian maya nih biar ndak lupa walau sekecil apapun kadang klo gak pernah di coba jd lupa lg, apalagi pemahaman orang lain dengan kita agak berbeda yah mungkin tujuannya sama tetapi jalannya yang berbeda..trs belajar dan semangat...
